In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old Nigerian woman, Patricia Masithela, was fatally attacked by a pack of starving dogs in Latina, Italy.
The attack occurred late Monday night at an abandoned villa in the Lazio region, where Patricia had reportedly gone to visit a male acquaintance. Unaware that her friend was not home, she was ambushed by the dogs, whose ferocious barks and her cries for help alarmed nearby residents.
Patricia, who recently relocated to Lazio from Nigeria, was found critically injured in a pool of blood with deep wounds inflicted by the dogs. Emergency responders were initially unable to access the scene until law enforcement intervened, shooting two of the animals and scaring off the rest of the pack with gunfire.
She was rushed to Santa Maria Goretti Hospital, where medics fought to save her life. Tragically, Patricia succumbed to her injuries, which included severe bite wounds and massive blood loss.
A devoted mother to a five-year-old daughter, Patricia’s death has plunged her family and friends into mourning.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the presence of the starving dogs in the area.
