Thomas Frank Hails Liverpool as the Best Team in the World
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has praised Liverpool, claiming they are currently the best team in the world and a step ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
Frank made the statement following Brentford’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. DAILY POST reports that Arne Slot’s side secured victory with two late goals from Darwin Núñez.
Reflecting on the match, Frank acknowledged Liverpool’s dominance.
“I think overall, it was a good performance against an outstanding team, which I believe is the best in the Premier League,” he said in his post-match interview.
“Of course, they are top of the table, so that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, but in my opinion, they are also the best team in the world right now.”
Having recently faced Manchester City and Arsenal, Frank suggested Liverpool are currently operating at a higher level than their title rivals.
“We’ve played against City, Arsenal, and now Liverpool in quick succession. Right now, Liverpool seem a level above the other two—more complete in all aspects of the game. They are exceptionally good,” he added.
Liverpool’s victory extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points over second-placed Arsenal, with the Anfield club still holding a game in hand.
