KWAM 1 Mourns the Loss of His Mother at 105
Nigerian Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, is in mourning following the death of his mother, Halima Anifowoshe, who passed away at the age of 105.
The renowned musician broke the news on his social media platforms, sharing a heartfelt photo with his late mother, accompanied by the caption: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi Raji’un. RIP Mama.”
This sad event comes just days after KWAM 1 lost one of his wives, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, who passed away on Tuesday after a brief illness. She was buried according to Muslim customs at the Abari cemetery in Lagos.
In response to the news, Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, extended his condolences to the grieving musician. On X, Obi wrote:
“On behalf of my family, I sincerely sympathise with the popular Fuji maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (K1 De Ultimate), who recently experienced a double bereavement. The reported deaths of his ex-wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, and his mother, Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe, within such a short time are truly heartbreaking.
“I extend my deepest condolences to him and his family during this painful period of mourning. May Almighty Allah grant them the strength to endure these irreplaceable losses, forgive the departed, and grant them eternal peace.”
