‘We will return millions, halt illegal entries,’ Trump threatens mass deportation

Trump Pledges Mass Deportation of Undocumented Immigrants in Inaugural Address

Donald Trump, sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, has vowed to deport “millions and millions” of undocumented immigrants with criminal records.

During his inauguration speech, marking his return to the White House for a second, non-consecutive term, Trump announced his plans to take immediate action on immigration policies.

“Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to stricter immigration enforcement.

He described his approach as a “complete restoration of America” and a return to policies driven by “common sense.”

Trump Declares National Emergency on Border Security

Trump reiterated his stance on border control, declaring that unauthorized entries into the U.S. would be halted under his leadership.

“I will declare a national emergency at our southern border,” he said. “All illegal entry will immediately be stopped, and we will begin the process of sending millions of criminal aliens back to their home countries.”

Reinstating the ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy

The president also confirmed the reinstatement of the controversial “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum seekers arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border to stay in Mexico while awaiting their immigration court hearings.

Trump’s renewed immigration strategy signals a return to some of the hardline policies from his first term, which had sparked both praise and criticism from different political factions.
