Brighton Stun Man Utd At Old Trafford

Manchester United Suffer 3-1 Defeat to Brighton Amid Onana’s Costly Error

Manchester United endured a disappointing 3-1 home defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, with Yankuba Minteh playing a key role by scoring one goal and assisting another. The Red Devils’ struggles were compounded by a costly mistake from goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter found the net for Brighton in the second half, while Joao Pedro had a goal disallowed after VAR detected a foul in the build-up.

According to Reuters, Bruno Fernandes temporarily brought United level at 1-1 with a penalty just before halftime. However, Brighton regained the lead, and Onana’s error—failing to collect a low cross—allowed Rutter to easily tap in the rebound.

League Standings

With this victory, Brighton moved up to ninth place with 34 points, sitting just four points outside the top four. Meanwhile, Manchester United remain in 13th place with 26 points from 22 matches.
