The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially confirmed that the 2024 Batch C Stream 2 Orientation Camp will commence today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, across all states in Nigeria. This update was shared through the scheme’s official X handle, #officialnyscng, on Tuesday, informing prospective corps members (PCMs) about the commencement of their orientation exercise.
PCMs are required to report to their designated camps as specified on their call-up letters, bringing along all necessary documents and survival kits. The NYSC also announced the release of deployment letters for the 2024 Batch C Stream II, allowing PCMs to access their posting details and adequately prepare for their service year.
In a safety advisory, the NYSC cautioned PCMs against traveling at night, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring their well-being. The statement also reminded PCMs about a critical registration requirement, urging them to print and sign the addendum, which must be submitted upon arrival at the orientation camp.
For logistical reasons, the NYSC disclosed that some PCMs originally assigned to Lagos State will undergo their orientation in camps located in Ekiti, Ondo, or Osun. Similarly, those initially deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may be required to report to camps in Nasarawa or Kaduna.
All prospective corps members are advised to comply with these arrangements and prepare adequately for the three-week mandatory orientation program. For continuous updates and official directives, PCMs are encouraged to follow NYSC’s verified social media platforms.
The orientation course, which spans three weeks, is a crucial component of the NYSC program, conducted simultaneously across designated camps in all 36 states and the FCT. Established in 1973, the NYSC was designed to foster national unity, integration, and development. The program is mandatory for all Nigerian graduates under the age of 30 and comprises three key phases: the orientation camp, primary assignment, and community development service.
