 Military Troops Neutralize Six Terrorists in Sokoto State Operation

Troops from the Defence Headquarters Special Operations Brigade have successfully eliminated six terrorists in a recent operation targeting Lakurawa insurgents in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, the operation was described as intense and resulted in the loss of five soldiers who died in the line of duty.

During the operation, the troops recovered various items, including four AK-47 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a box of 12.7mm ammunition.

The statement highlighted the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers, describing their efforts as heroic in the fight to ensure national security.

The military has also appealed to residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or security threats in Gudu LGA and nearby areas.

The statement underscored the importance of community cooperation in maintaining safety and promoting peace in the region.
