Gombe Police Arrest Six Suspects for Armed Robbery, Attempted Kidnapping
The Gombe State Police Command has announced the arrest of six individuals linked to a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and attempted kidnapping.
The suspects—Muhammad Musa Korau (28), Aisha Jibir (28), Musa Haruna (35), Musa Muhammad Ajiya (24), Saleh Wammi (42), and Abubakar Isah (45)—were apprehended in Layi Village, Dukku Local Government Area, following a complaint by Muhammad Ibrahim, a 29-year-old resident of Bagadazan Fulani Village.
Details of the Crime
According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, Ibrahim reported that on January 4, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., a group of about ten armed individuals stormed his residence on three motorcycles, threatening his life in the process.
The assailants reportedly made away with his motorcycle, valued at ₦1,020,000, and cash amounting to ₦2,740,000. A Techno keypad phone was also recovered as evidence.
Police Response and Investigation
DSP Abdullahi confirmed that intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of the suspects. “They were apprehended based on credible intelligence, and they will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations,” he stated.
Commitment to Justice
The police have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to recover the stolen motorcycle and cash while urging anyone with relevant information to assist in the investigation.
“We are fully committed to ensuring justice is served and will not relent until all those responsible are brought to book,” Abdullahi emphasized.
The Gombe State Police Command also reiterated its stance against criminal activities, vowing to safeguard lives and property.
“We encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities,” Abdullahi added.
