Oyo State Mobilisation Agency Encourages Youths to Embrace Hard Work
The Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED) has called on young people to reject shortcuts to success and instead cultivate a strong work ethic.
Dr. Morohunkola Thomas, the agency’s Director-General, made this appeal on Friday while hosting members of Junior Chamber International (JCI) at the agency’s office in Bodija, Ibadan.
Thomas reaffirmed OYMASED’s commitment to partnering with JCI on initiatives aimed at empowering youths, fostering productivity, and building a thriving society. He emphasized the importance of upholding Yoruba cultural values, advocating for discipline, integrity, and respect for elders as fundamental principles for emerging leaders.
JCI’s Commitment to Leadership and Development
In response, JCI National President Oluwatoyin Atanda highlighted the organization’s mission to empower individuals to drive positive change and transform leaders into exceptional ones.
Atanda also shared that JCI recently introduced International Human Duties Day, a global initiative designed to reinforce responsibility and accountability while promoting sustainable development and overall human well-being.
“This initiative strengthens global solidarity and cooperation, empowering communities to drive meaningful change,” she stated.
Strengthening Partnerships for Youth Development
JCI Executive Vice President (South-West), Akinbode Abitogun, emphasized that the visit was aimed at fostering collaboration with OYMASED in developing young leaders for societal progress.
He noted that the agency’s mission aligns with core leadership responsibilities, including preserving life, serving humanity, ensuring a sustainable future, promoting prosperity, fostering mutual respect, educating others, and leading with integrity.
The discussions underscored a shared vision between OYMASED and JCI, reinforcing the importance of youth engagement in building a progressive and disciplined society.
