President Calls for Enhanced School Safety Measures
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire outbreak that claimed the lives of 17 children at an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State. The Tuesday night incident also left 16 other students injured, some of whom are currently receiving medical attention.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended his condolences to the affected families, the Zamfara State Government, and the owners of the school. He also prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the fire.

According to Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura, a resident of the area, the fire spread rapidly, engulfing parts of the Islamiya school and trapping several children inside. Emergency response teams and local residents rushed to rescue students, but sadly, 17 children lost their lives before help could reach them.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
