Major Infrastructure Developments in Abuja and Satellite Towns
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved a budget of N36.5 billion for the execution of key infrastructure projects in the Federal Capital City (FCC) and satellite towns. The projects include the construction of sports centres, magistrate courts, and power supply improvements.
The Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Mr. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, disclosed the approval during a media briefing on Thursday following the first FCT Executive Committee meeting of 2025.
Breakdown of the N36.5bn Budget Allocation
📌 Multi-Event Sports Centres – N19.6 billion
📌 Magistrate Courts (Asokoro & Garki) – N13.9 billion
📌 33KV Power Supply & Street Lighting – N3 billion
Sports Centres Construction (N19.6bn)
The FCTA awarded contracts for two major multi-event sports complexes in Abuja to enhance sports development in the region.
🏟 Lot A (Area 3 & Area 10, Garki District) – Awarded to Earthgain Energy and Environmental Services Ltd at N9.9 billion
🏟 Lot B (Kafe District, Behind Life Camp) – Awarded to Tegwa-Tegwa Nigeria Ltd at N9.7 billion
🛠 Completion Timeline: 12 months
New Magistrate Courts in Asokoro and Garki (N13.9bn)
To enhance access to legal services, the FCTA approved the construction of two new magistrate courts in Asokoro and Garki.

⚖️ Garki Magistrate Court – N6.3 billion
🛠 Completion Timeline: 15-18 months
Power Supply & Street Lighting (N3bn)
The FCTA also approved N3 billion to improve electricity and street lighting in satellite towns to enhance security and infrastructure.
